Not All Computer Microphones Are Created Equal

If you are searching for the right accessories to compliment you voice recognition software, be aware that not all computer microphones are created equal.  Although it may cost a little more, the right kind of mike can determine whether the program works as intended.Computer Microphones

What to Look For

When you start shopping around for the best in computer microphones, you may have to pay a little more for what you need, but it will be worth it.  For example, a good microphone will help filter out the background noise, while you are trying to dictate with voice recognition software.

If you settle for the cheaper computer microphones, you may have trouble with it typing a deep breath into the document as some sort of word.  If someone walks into the room and starts talking, it will not differentiate between your voice and theirs.

If you can afford to spend a little extra, you may want to get an array microphone that will allow you to move about the room during dictation.  It works great if you are dictating a document while holding a meeting.  If you work at home, the right kind of computer microphones can allow you to move about doing chores, while you work at the same time.

Do not Settle

If you want to make the most of your voice recognition software, do not settle for the cheaper computer microphones.  From personal experience, you will end up frustrated, correcting needless mistakes from background noises, and repeating dictation, if the computer microphone does not pick it up correctly.  Remember, not all computer microphones are created equal.
