[...] Dragon software is easily one of the most sought after voice activation programs. The company has been an outstanding leader in the field for many years. They have taken everything you can imagine into account. You can choose from all sorts of versions. If your computer is only for personal use, you will not need the program dedicated to small business. If you do a lot of medical transcription, you will want to pick a specially designed version, rather than the business version. The other brands of software you can select from require you to add all of the special vocabulary. Plus, they do not have the same rate of accuracy. [...]

Well, after the "success" of ViaVoice, I was expecting the "speech recognition market" to slowly fade away, I mean practically I have never seen ANY direct use of using a microphone to dictate text to a computer, all in all I just got fed up with the awful relevancy of the text transcribed onto the screen, it was not good!

Speech recognition is a wonderful tool. Paring it in back-end speech recognition with intelligent language processing, also speeds the process and enables MTs to spend less time on formatting, ond more time applying their knowledge to editing the content. Both front-end and back-end speech recognition can help reduce costs.

[...] Speech to text is a concept that conjures images of science fiction movies, where space marauders duel with laser guns and speak to their computers as if they were fellow human beings. Though not quite as advanced and dramatic as the motion pictures, this technology has become a reality with a wide range of applications. What value does it offer to small and medium sized companies? Let’s take a deeper look and see how this technology can be applied to the modern business strategy. [...]
